Edfluence Privacy Policy

Edfluence, Inc. (“Edfluence,” “we,” “our” or “us) operates (the “Site”), which allows you to take courses presented by individuals who have expertise in various industries and art forms, from social media stars to television personalities (“Influencers”).

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains the privacy practices governing the information collected through the Site, including our online courses provided by streaming or on-demand videos and other related materials we may make available (such materials collectively with the Site, are referred to as the “Services”). As used in this Privacy Policy, “User,” “you” and “your” refer to users of the Services as well as visitors to the Site.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully because when you submit information to or through the Site, you are consenting to the collection, processing and retention of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms used but not defined herein have the meanings assigned to them in the Terms of Service


Note to Users Outside of the United States:  If you are a non-U.S. user of the Site or Services, you must consent to the processing and transfer of your Personal Data for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy as is required by Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament (the “EU Directive“) and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”). In addition, your Personal Data may be processed in the country in which it was collected and in other countries, including the United States, where laws regarding Personal Data processing may be less stringent than the laws in your country.

  1. Information We Collect

Personal Data” means data that, either alone or in combination with other information about you, allows us to identify you as an individual or contact you, including, for example, your name, address, telephone number, e-mail and mailing addresses, and payment information as well as any other non-public information about you that is associated with or linked to any of the foregoing data.

Anonymous Data” means data that is not associated with or linked to your Personal Data. Anonymous Data does not (by itself or in combination with other data that, alone, would be anonymous) permit the identification of individual persons.

We collect Personal Data and Anonymous Data, as described below:

Information You Provide to Us.  We may collect Personal Data from you, such as your first and last name, gender, e-mail and mailing addresses, payment information, or social media account handle and password when you create an account to log in to the Services (“Account”).

We collect device and usage data which tells us about the device you use to access the Site and how you interact with the Services as further described below. We also collect other types of information such as your operating system and version, and other requested information if you contact us regarding support for the Services.

Our Site lets you store preferences like how your content is displayed and safe search settings. We may associate these choices with your ID or browser, and you can edit these preferences at any time.

When connecting to our Services via a service provider that uniquely identifies your mobile device, we may receive this identification and use it to offer extended services and/or functionality.

When you order Services, we will collect all information necessary to complete the transaction, including your name, payment information and billing or shipping information. Some or all of this information may be shared with third parties who will help process and fulfill your purchases, as further detailed below.

If you provide us with feedback or contact us via e-mail, we will collect your name and e-mail address, as well as any other content included in the e-mail, in order to send you a reply.

When you provide content (text, images, videos, photographs, messages, comments or any other kind of content that is not your e-mail address) to an Influencer through the Site, the information contained in your submission will be stored in our servers.

When you post comments or questions in a chat forum on our Site (“Forum”), the information contained in your post will be stored on our servers and other registered Users will be able to see it.

Information Collected by Our Servers.  To make our Site and Services more useful to you, our servers (which may be hosted by a third party service provider) collect information from you, including your browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address (a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet, which may vary from session to session), domain name, and/or a date/time stamp for your visit.

Log Files.  As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes IP addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (“ISP”), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users’ movements around the Site, gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, and better tailor our Services to our users’ needs. For example, some of the information may be collected so that when you visit the Site or the Services again. Except as noted in this Policy, we do not link this automatically-collected data to your Personal Data.

Targeted Advertising. In order to serve offers and advertisements that may interest you, we may display targeted advertisements on the Services, or other digital properties or applications in conjunction with our content based on information provided to us by our users and information provided to us by third parties that they have independently collected. Our advertisers and other third parties who collect Personal Data from our Site may offer opt-outs through the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) or Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”). We do not provide Personal Data to advertisers when you interact with an advertisement.

Cookies. Like many online services, we use cookies to collect information. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that a website sends to your computer’s hard drive while you are viewing the website. We may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Site. This type of information is collected to make the Site more useful to you and to tailor your experience with us to meet your special interests and needs. Deleting cookies will not opt you out of all data collection on your mobile device. See the “Cookies and Device ID” section, below for additional information about how to limit data collection.

Social Media Cookies.  These cookies are used when you share information using a social media sharing button or “like” button on our Site or you link your Account or engage with our content on or through a social networking website such as Facebook, Twitter or Google+. The social network will record that you have done this.

Pixel Tags.  We may also use pixel tags (which are also known as web beacons and clear GIFs) on our Services to track the actions of users on our Services. Unlike cookies, which are stored on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device by a website, pixel tags are embedded invisibly on webpages. Pixel tags measure the success of our marketing campaigns and compile statistics about usage of the Services, so that we can manage our content more effectively. The information we collect using pixel tags is not linked to our users’ Personal Data.

How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals. We do not currently respond to “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that might enable Users to opt out of tracking on our site.

Google Analytics.  In addition to the tracking technologies we place, we use Google Analytics to help analyze how Users use the Site and Services, including using Cookies to collect information such as how often users visit the Site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to the Site (“Analytics Information”). We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve our Site and Services. The information gathered does not identify any individual visitor. The information is aggregated and therefore anonymous. Google Analytics uses Analytics Information to compile reports on user activity. Google Analytics may also transfer information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process Analytics Information on their behalf. Our ability to use and share Analytics Information is restricted by such Google Analytics’ Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By using our Site and Services, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google Analytics in the manner and for the purposes set out above. Facebook or Google ID.  We may allow you to use existing Facebook or Google credentials to set up an Account. If you wish to use such credentials you are taken to the applicable provider to login to your account and this information is then shared with us for the sole purpose of setting up your Account. If you elect to do so, you are agreeing to Facebook or Google’s terms of use in your use of the Services. Any information that we collect from Facebook or Google may depend on the privacy settings you have selected with them, so please consult their privacy policy and data practices. You can revoke our access to the information you provide in this way at any time by amending the appropriate settings from within your account settings on Facebook or Google.

Information Collected from Other Sources.  We will use and protect information we collect from other sources according to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, in addition to restrictions that may be imposed by the source of the information. These third-party sources may vary over time, but have included:

  • social networks when you grant permission to Edfluence to access your information on one or more networks;
  • service providers that help us determine a location based on your IP address in order to customize certain Services, based on your location;
  • partners with which we offer co-branded services or engage in joint marketing activities; and
  • publicly-available sources such as other data in the public domain. We rely on these third parties to obtain the necessary consent in order to provide this information to us.
  1. How We Use Your Information

Any information you submit through the Site may be used for a variety of purposes, including for example, to:

  • facilitate the creation of and secure your Account on our network;
  • identify you as a User in our system;
  • provide improved administration of our Site and Services;
  • provide the Services you request;
  • personalize and improve the quality of your experience when  interact with our Services based on your interests and activity on the Site;
  • send you a welcome e-mail to verify ownership of the e-mail address provided when your Account is created;
  • send you administrative e-mail notifications, such as security or support and maintenance advisories;
  • serve you advertisements on our Site or third-party sites that may be of interest to you;
  • protect the security and safety of the Site and Services and our users, to prevent fraud, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
  • Develop aggregate analysis and business intelligence that enable us to operate, make decisions about, and report on the performance of our business, the Site or Services.
  • respond to your inquiries related to employment opportunities or other Service-related requests;
  • send you email communications regarding the Services.
  • send newsletters, surveys, offers, and other promotional materials related to our Services and for other internal marketing purposes.

We will only use the information you provide to us in a manner that is consent with this Privacy Policy or where we’ve otherwise obtained your consent.

User Testimonials and Feedback.  We often receive testimonials and comments from Users who have had positive experiences with our Services. We occasionally publish such content. When we publish this content, we may identify our Users by their user name and may also indicate their home city. We will obtain the User’s consent prior to posting his or her name along with the testimonial.

Creation of Anonymous Data.  We may create Anonymous Data records from Personal Data by excluding information (such as your name) that makes the data personally identifiable to you. We use this Anonymous Data to analyze request and usage patterns so that we may enhance the content of our Services and improve Site navigation. We may use Anonymous Data and aggregated and other de-identified information for any purpose and disclose Anonymous Data to third parties in our sole discretion.

  1. How We May Share Your Information

Disclosure of Your Personal Data. We disclose your Personal Data as described below and elsewhere in this Policy.

Third Party Service Providers.  We may share your Personal Data with third party service providers to: process payments for the Services; provide you with the Services that we offer you through our Site; conduct quality assurance testing; facilitate creation of Accounts; to provide technical support; and/or to provide other services to us. These third party service providers are required not to use your Personal Data other than to provide the services requested by us.

Affiliates.  We may share some or all of your Personal Data with our parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies that feature Jake Paul or Team10 and are under common control (“Affiliates”), in which case we will require our Affiliates to honor this Policy.

Featured Influencers or Instructors.  We may share your Personal Data or aggregated and anonymized information collected from you through the Services with the Influencers featured on the Site, in compliance with applicable law. These Influencers may also use this information for their marketing purposes, such as providing you with promotional materials that may be useful, relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you. Where required under applicable law, we will obtain your prior consent before permitting an Influencer to send you electronic marketing communications.

Corporate Restructuring.  We may share some or all of your Personal Data in connection with or during negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition or dissolution transaction or proceeding involving the sale, transfer, divestiture, or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets. In the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, Personal Data may also be transferred as a business asset. If another company acquires our company, business, or assets, that company will possess the Personal Data collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations regarding your Personal Data as described in this Policy.

Social Networking Sites.  Some of our Services may enable you to post content to Social Networking Sites (e.g., Facebook or Twitter) (“SNS”). If you choose to do this, we will provide information to such SNSs in accordance with your elections. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for your use of those services and that it is your responsibility to review the terms of use and privacy policy of the third party provider of such SNSs. We will not be responsible or liable for: (i) the availability or accuracy of such SNSs; (ii) the content, products or services on or availability of such SNSs; or (iii) your use of any such SNSs. You can revoke the SNSs access to the information you provide in this way at any time by amending the appropriate settings from within your account settings on the applicable SNS.

Forums.  Certain portions of the information you provide to us (such as your User name) may also be displayed in connection with Forums or other communication supported within the Site or Services. The content you post to Forums or the equivalent on our Site is viewable to other registered Users. We cannot control which other Users read your postings or what they may do with the information that you post, so it is very important that you do not put Personal Data in your posts. Once you have posted information to a Forum, while you may still be able to edit and delete it within the Forum, you will not be able to edit or delete such information if it is cached, collected, and stored elsewhere by others. For that reason, you should be mindful about the information you post to a Forum.

Legal and Other Disclosures. Regardless of any choices you make regarding your Personal Data (as described below), we may disclose your Personal Data if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary: (i) in connection with any legal investigation; (ii) to comply with relevant laws or to respond to valid legal process, including subpoenas or warrants served on Edfluence by law enforcement or other government agencies; (iii) to protect or defend the rights or property of Edfluence or users of the Site or Services; and/or (iv) to investigate or assist in preventing any violation or potential violation of the law, this Policy, or our Terms of Use.

  1. Your Privacy Choices and Access

You may always direct us not to share your Personal Data with third parties, not to use your Personal Data to provide you with information or offers, or not to send you newsletters, updates, e-mails or other communications by:

  • sending us an e-mail at or
  • following the removal instructions in the communication that you receive.

If you wish to verify, correct, or update any of your Personal Data collected through the Site, you may contact us at the e-mail or mailing address included above. In accordance with our routine record keeping, we may delete certain records that contain Personal Data that you have submitted through the Site. We are under no obligation to store such Personal Data indefinitely and disclaim any liability arising out of, or related to, the destruction of such Personal Data. In addition, you should be aware that it is not always possible to completely remove or delete all of your information from our databases without some residual data because of backups or other technology-related reasons.

E-mail Communications. We will periodically send you newsletters and e-mails that directly promote the use of our Services or third party products or services that we believe are of interest to you (note that we never provide your Personal Data to third party advertisers to allow them to contact you directly, unless we obtain your consent). You may indicate a preference to stop receiving further communications from us and will have the opportunity to “opt-out” by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the e-mail you receive or by contacting us directly at Despite your indicated e-mail preferences, we may send you Service-related communications, including notices regarding a recent Purchase or any updates to our Terms of Use or this Privacy Policy.

Cookies and Device IDs. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to accept Cookies from our Service for any of the purposes described above, then you can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to stop accepting Cookies or to prompt you before accepting a Cookie from the websites you visit. Accessing, Changing or Deleting Your Personal Data. All users may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Data in their user Account by contacting us or editing their User information via the profile page of the Services. If you completely delete all of your Personal Data, then your Account may become deactivated. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor any requests for changes to user Accounts received by e-mail or mailing address listed below. We may also retain your information for fraud prevention or similar purposes.

As such, neither Edfluence nor its affiliates, officers or directors, will be responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results obtained from the use of the information contained on these websites. To the extent that these websites collect Personal Data or postings from Users, be advised that in no event shall Edfluence assume or have any responsibility or liability for the manner in which such information or postings are exploited or for any claims, damages, or losses resulting from the use and/or appearance of the information on these sites. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with any Personal Data, we will use that information only to respond directly to that child (or his or her parent or legal guardian) to inform the child that he or she cannot use the Site. We will then dispose of such Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Security of Credit Card and Bank Account Information.  To process your payments made through the Site, we use the payment services of Stripe, Inc. We do not process, record or maintain your credit card or bank account information. Data Controller.  For the purposes of the EU Directive and the GDPR or equivalent legislation in the applicable jurisdiction, the data controller of your Personal Data (as defined below) is Edfluence.

Sensitive Personal Data.  Subject to the following paragraph, we ask that you not send us, and you not disclose, any Sensitive Personal Data (e.g., social security numbers, information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, biometrics or genetic characteristics, criminal background or trade union membership) on or through the Site and Services or otherwise to us.

If you send or disclose any Sensitive Personal Data to us when you submit user-generated content to our Site, you consent to our processing and use of such Sensitive Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent to our processing and use of such Sensitive Personal Data, you must not submit such user generated content to our Site.

International Data Transfer.  We may store and process your data outside the EEA. The data, including Personal Data, that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the EEA. It may also be processed by staff operating outside of the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, setting up and managing your account and the provision of support services. By checking the box upon registering with us, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. Edfluence will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.

Retention.  We will only retain your Personal Data for up to six months unless: (i) you cancel your subscription (in which case we will delete your data as soon as practicable), or (ii) a longer retention period is required by law (for example for regulatory purposes).

Your Rights

Opt-out.  You may contact us anytime to opt-out of: (i) direct marketing communications; (ii) our collection of sensitive data; (iv) any new processing or your Personal Data we carry out beyond the original purpose; or (v) the transfer of your Personal Data outside the EEA. Please note that your use of some of the Site or Services may be ineffective upon opt-out.

Your Ad Choices.  Some of the third party services providers and/or advertisers may be members of the Network European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (“EDAA“) Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioural Advertising. Erase and Forget.  In certain situations, for example when the information we hold about you is no longer relevant or is incorrect, you can request that we erase your Personal Data.
